Tablelands tour 2008-05-05 is the first time I have done this tour in about 8 years and I was glad to ride it again thou I was not very fit I was happy my results seeing that I have been out of for many years now and slowly getting back into (maybe bit to slow ?). All in all this tour for me was another very good learning curve yet again. I am happy with my riding this weekend and my results n definitely the results of the team unlucky we didn’t have a better first day I most certainly think we could of have won it as the rest of the boys were getting stronger as the tour was going on.
Stage 1 .. 44km road race
Stage was a smash fest with a bit of gutter ball thrown in the mix as well a break of 4 went in the first 10km our team missed it due to some reason and we were chasing all day to pull them back in then after awhile was to limit losses as we knew we weren’t going to get them back in lost just under 2mins for that stage and place in the bunch.
Stage 2 4km ITT
Basically what it says and my first ever TT without a Speedo or TT bars so i felt kind of wrong doing it but it had to b done none the less. Course was slightly down hill and tail wind and the obviously reversed coming back up to the finish line I pulled out a 6min flat ride for that stage and placed 7th.
Stage 3 44Km road race
Our team rode much better in this stage as we didn't really need to do anything except be in every break that went down the road and i was feeling not to bad surprisingly with few of other guys were down the road most of the day which made my life little easier I attacked with 8km to go to see who would join me whole bunch followed then swung into a side head wind with then attacked when miles did with 5.5km to go and got clear of the bunch with the help my team mates i got second to mile
